Any twitchers out there? This scruffy nest has appeared in my field shelter. There have previously been swallow nests but they are nothing like this one. It is slightly larger than a swallow nest. Annoyingly I haven’t seen any birds in or around the shelter but it does seem to be in use. I would love to know the type of bird .

I think it’s likely a swallow nest from having a quick Google…

If you scroll down a bit, there’s a picture of a less tidy example like yours?

Oh yes, interesting. Comparing it to the other nest in the shelter which looks completely different I just assumed it wasn’t a swallows nest.

Don't think it is swallows as most of ours have made them out of mud, except the few that chose the ones i bought
Don't know but keep an eye on it, as we found two swallows hanging dead after getting entangled in horse hair. Don't think it is swallows as most here are made out of mud, except the ones who chose the ones i bought.https://www.vinehousefarm.co.uk/swallow-nest
