We use the trailer about 2/3 times a week, going out for hacks, although we hadn't done for the last month as I was trying to sort my saddle out.

A few days ago I found the nest attached to the peg his haynet it tied from, a lovely horsepoo and hay thing. Carefully checked that it was empty (assuming babies had been and gone), and it was. So off we went.

So today I went to show a friend my nest, I put my finger in, and there were eggs in there. I hope to God I haven't frightened mum off  , but that's it now - the eggs are a few days old.......anyone know when they'll be fledged and I can have my trailer back again. Think it's either swifts, swallows or house martins. Very excitied tbh ;)

Cadburys creme eggs for any help :D

aww we always get nests in the stables, and we always have to put babies back in that fall out to save them from big hooves!! so watch out! lol not sure exactly when they go though... it must be more than a month theyre occupied for ... hmm not sure!!

I was thinking along the lines of a month too - oh poo ! ;)

Hubs is already planning to leave the jockey door open when they start fledging in case they can't fly out of the back door, we take our responsibilites very seriously.........:)

I googled this and here's a link

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barn_Swallow

Looks like you're in for a wait of about 2 months. Sorry

We have lots of swallows in our barns and have even had to put an egg back in one!

Swallows are nesting in my field shelter - the first clutch - they come back to the same nest for the second clutch and depart September time - only to return the following year and start again! You may have to park your trailer in a different spot........................:D

Oh my life  I genuinely use it 2 times a week at least...........

Do you think nesting birds like to go out for a jaunt in the countryside ;)
