On Tuesday I took Biscuit to his first ever flyball session, We both loved it. He did really well and understood the basis of the chute. He was doing the start of a swimmers turn by the end of the session when he was encouraged with a ball.

The video may not look like much but it was his first ever complete run (he had only ever done one runback before this)

For anyone who hasn't got the sound on Biscuit is the short one, being handled by myself in the grey blouson

well done both of you! Looks great fun, I have always wanted to try flyball, it looks so much fun and very exciting! I've never had a dog ball orientated enough to try it though!

Well done both of you - very good for his first session :D
Be warned though, it is very addictive - before you know it you'll be camping in wet, muddy fields with lots of mad people at competitions :p

Looks like great fun :)

Sorry to hijak - Does anyone know of anywhere up north (Durham area) where we can give it a go?

Betsys life revolves around 'ball', I think flyball may actually be her calling :p Or would a scruffy border terrier be laughed at :o

Here is a link to the BFA website with registered clubs. Alternatively you can just try googling flyball and your area and see what comes up.

Doubt you would be laughed at - all sizes and shapes of dog do flyball (including *shock horror* crossbreeds like mine), as long as they will run up, get the ball and run back :D

we've got all sorts of breeds in my team--labs, min poodles, x breeds of al types, shepherds, dobys, jrt, to name just a few. Some are fast, some are slow, but there is a team for all.
