Loose rings do help with leaning but, are you sure its not just a balance/schooling issue? If he is on the forehand he will be heavy in the hand x

i didnt find a lose ring snaffle made any different to my boy ive got him in an eggbut french link at the moment and working on getting him balanced my instructor recomended a waterford snaffle as they cant lean with one of them and it is only harsh depending on how harsh you are with your hands ive bought one but im only going to use it as a last resort

i dnt fancy a waterford, dnt really like using them, tht would have to be a last resort.

not a balance issue, he is very balanced and the leaning is intermitant...only does it wen hes tired or just simply had enough of doing wat i ask! lol

Then surely it would still be a schooling issue? It is up to you to teach him respect for you and that he's expected to do as you say, when you say - not for him to decide when he's had enough!

You could try the same bit you currently use but get one with rollers in it.These are designed specifically for horses who lean on you to encourage them to carry themselves properly.
