Bit Advice

What bit would people recommend for a 14.1 pony with a smallish mouth (welsh x arab) who can be a bit of a nightmare off road (snatching at the bit. trying to bugger off, spinning etc)

Only does it when he is on his own and never on the roads (just in open spaces usually)

Gags etc make him over bend to evade the bit. He's in a hanging cheek french link at the mo - has hacked out nicely all summer in it, he just becomes a bit of a devil in the winter. Feed regime hasn't changed - its just the temperature (he was the same last year!)

I'm googling kimblewicks..

Would a flash noseband help at all?
I was told they help stop horses/ponies getting the bit between their teeth and tanking off.

Try a kimblewick, much nicer than a gag and not like putting a huge lever in ur horses gob!
