Im looking for a new bit for hunting my pony in.
She is normally in a Wilkie, and she can be quite strong. She tends to pull forward, not up maybe a little down sometimes. It’s fine, though. She’s controllable.
But hunting. Oh gosh I need a stronger bit! She PULLS. I have little control. And I can barely stop her! My arms feel like spaghetti afterwards!!
So, I’m wondering what bit you’d suggest? TIA

I would work on using your seat before going to a stronger bit. I know it is so hard when they are on a wire hunting but it is worth thinking about.

I suppose so, but normally we’re fine - she gets super wired out hunting to the point of her having only 2 speeds, walk and gallop!
And a lot of ppl have said I should bit up.

Maybe you could try something less than the wilkie for everyday then use the wilkie as the stronger bit for hunting. If not I agree the kimblewick may work for you.
