Hi everyone,

since having my baby (a whole 3 months ago) i seem to have lost most of my brain cells, and cannot think of any bits that would help with the braking & steering of one of my horses, he's currently ridden in either a waterford or a full cheek french link, & i need a little bit more control during a turn, but a full cheek waterford isn't enough, pondering over the weekend all i have in the tack room is 101 snaffles and kimblewicks/pelhams, which i am planning on trying tomorrow, but i think they may be too strong, so any suggestions would be great,

thanks

I have a similar mouthed horse pretty much identical in what he was ridden in - I would go with a vulcanite pelham. I find the curb chain really helps if they are having a row about direction and plus its a long bit so you have the additional side pressure as well. I find horses argue a lot less in a pelham. My only complaint about the vulcanite is its not a very sensitive bit but then I find most pelhams are like that.
