Just started my data collection for my dissertation, lungeing horses and noting what time (if they do) evade the bit and in what way.

I am then linking this to my data forms, but just wondering what everyone else's opinions are on possible reasons?

I am dreading trying to make sense out of the data. Some of the more temperamental horses I'd expect to find further evasions, actually show less. However ones ridden in drop nosebands and flashes have proven to be more evasive so far.

mm, would think that a fair few horses ridden in these nosebands have underlying problems that are being 'solved' with a flash so they evade in a different way :)

Also found riding school horses have less mouth evasion than competition horses so far! BUT the riding school ones had every other trick in the book to evade lungeing :p clever ponies!
