My youngster has just gone off to be backed and will be coming back in a few weeks.

I was just wondering what bit to put in her when she gets back? Breaker said 'oh play around a bit,' but I've only got a loose ring lozenge snaffle for my TB.

Obviously first one isn't going to suit, but just wondering where to start?

I was thinking a loose ring lozenge snaffle in a sweet iron or copper? Does that sound okay?

Thanks :)

I got a loose ring lozenge snaffle for my filly and she hated it. I then tried her in my mare's myler comfort snaffle and she loved it, but it was too big so I had to buy her, her own myler. Flipping filly has expensive tastes.

Can you borrow a few bits to try from friends? Then you can buy your own once you've found out what works.

PS, I still think that a loose ring lozenge snaffle is a good place to start.

I'm using a french link with cheeks. The cheeks help with steering. The double joint is kinder than one joint. He seems to be going well in it.
