Have my boy who is very soft mouthed in a NS hanging cheek with snaffle, have also been given a ported myler egg but, that moves each side independantly, do you think this would be better??

It depends on what you want/what he needs from the bit. You dont say how old your horse is or what your wanting to acheive. So i dont think anyone can give you an opinion really.

He is nearly 6, very soft mouthed, schooling and hacking only, just wondering opinions on which bit is gentler and more comfy.

If he is happy in the current bit and there are no problems, I wouldn't bother changing bit.
