Sorry im awful with bits so thought id ask on here for a friend; does anyone know what bit is stronger than a french link snaffle but still with a french link?
Pref not a gag!

As a side note to this question, is a French link stronger than a single jointed snaffle? I always thought a French link was milder but I was reading online that it is a strong bit and should be used with great care...

French link is just the name of the joint on the mouth piece, & is available on the majority of bits, so you could have a loose ring French link snaffle, a French link copper roller, a French link dutch gag etc. Which bit is best for your friend depends entirely on the actual horse & what's happening.
French links are usually milder than a single joint, because you don't get the nutcracker action. If you get a single joint snaffle, stick it over your elbow & pull, you'll see the joint moves upwards and away from your elbow, which can result in it hitting the palate on a horse. Whereas doing the same with a French link, it stays flat to your elbow. However, there's always exceptions. My mare doesn't like double jointed bits, its not that she is just happy enough in a single joint, I've tried lots of double links & she hasn't been impressed.
