Hi Guys,

As some of you may remember I move yards at christmas, its a lovely place one other mare with abbey and a gelding, or so I thought!!!!!

Hes almost 2 and has been getting a bit full of himself over the past 2months to the point where he has brused the other mare from trying to mount her! I wasnt awear that he was doing this.

They have now been seperated from him, but im starting to panic a bit now as abbey still hasnt come into season yet but the other mare has, abbey is a very hormonal mare and is normally in season throughout the year, I was walking her back and forward past the "gelding" and she is just not interested!

He had a blood test last week so we should find out this week but I really dont no where I stand, I dont feel I should have to pay to have an ultra sound or to have it terminated, but I also dont feel it is the yard managers falt as she paid over £1,000 to have him done as he also got an infection aswell!

Im really confused as to what to do if he does turn out to be a rig??

Help!!!!

thanks for reading

I'd wait for results of test - and go from there. My mare hasn't come into season yet either, she might just be a little later than the other mare?

Surely if he has been recently gelded the vet would have said if he hadnt found one of the tezzies???? I cant see any other way he could have made your mare preggers if he has been done properly.

Did you move in very soon after he was done..... if its the same as blokes when they have a vasectomy then they have to have a couple of checks to make sure they are sperm free..... as it takes a certain amount of time to get out of the system so to speak!!!

Is it the same for horses????
