My friends horse is having to go for xrays again next week. The vet wants her in over night, which means my horse will be alone for a night and day until she is back (there is only two of them on the yard). Last time she went for the day so he went with her, but this time Im not sure what to do. I would prefer to leave him at home but think he will get a bit stressed out. What do you think??

Toughy, he will probably settle after a few hours, its not fair on you having to trundle him about, can you stable him and make sure he has lots to occupy him. Also is there someone on site to keep an eye on him.

I used to make sure I had a bar across the top door so mine couldnt try and jump out, he was a real stress head,

Maybe get a tube of Sedalin from the vet to take the edge off if he gets a bit edgy, and get a radio to leave on overnight as a bit of company.

A day and a night isn't that long really and he will probably be fine!!

I dredded the day that Spooks was going to be left alone forever as he was a nightmare when he was alone - he used to crash through fences and everything, but he was fine!

This may be strange, but why not ask the vet surgery if they've got an empty box...and pop him beside his friend. It might stop his friend injuring himself more through being unsettled?
Just a thought.

I have checked with the insurance and they wont cover the cost of his stabling so I would have to pay, but dont think it would cost a lot, so really doesnt help me make a decision!
