has anyones horse had a reaction to a peritineal (sp?) tap? or has their horse had one and where needle inserted became infected?
Only asking as mine had a peritineal tap begining Dec when he went to Newmarket for colic. Came home and all was fine. a week after his return I noticed his stomach swelling and then a week later where needle injected infection started to come out. que a weeks oral antibiotics and 3 penicillan Injection plus 10 days bute, This I initially cleared it up (or so I thought) last monday lots of pus....again so onto penicillan Injections again (last was given tonight) and 10 days bute....thing is when I cleaned it tonight it was still producing Pus
