What would you do?
I keep Roo on DIY livery, £10 a week for a stable and field, and a big patch of grass we ride on. I don't tend to hack out because theres cows in the field which I'm scared of.
I've been here a year and not had any problems or desire to leave.
However, I recently started working on a yard, £20 DIY livery, gets a stable, field, indoor and outdoor school, jumps and xc jumps. However, I rang today and he can't accomodate any more DIY, he only wants full or part livery.
So, do I ask him to let me know if a stable comes up on DIY, which may never happen

or do I wait until I have a job, (I'm desperately looking for a job) and go on part livery at £65 a week. Or do I stop moaning and get on with it on the yard I'm on.

You say youve never had any desire to leave so I'd stay where you are but put your name down for DIY on the new yard and wait.

I've never had the desire. But after just 3 days of working at the 'new' yard, I'm finding that when I go see Roo, I can't stop wishing we were at 'new' yard. Not having an arena has never been a problem, now it is the only thing I can think of when I go to the yard

id also say to put your name on the waiting list and stay where you are. you cant buy happiness hun and it would be better to stay put and be content and wait for a space to come up which will be easily affordable. dont forget on top of your livery costs you still have farrier, feed etc to pay for.

its very hard to find a livery yard youre happy at in my experience so yeah stay put and good and affordable

things come to those who wait

Yup, put your name down and stay put until you get a DIY place. £65 per week plus all the other bits of keeping a horse is a heck of a lot of money. If you're working there, a place might come up sooner (if nice and accommodating YO
