I have a yearling colt who at present only appears to have one testicle. . .poor chap!!!
Anyway my question is how much longer do i give it before i know its just not going to happen?

I want to have him gelded, but quite frankly the cost involved could be enormous, especially if its very high up inside the abdominal cavity, so i'm hoping nature will take its course, but i'm beginning to have serious doubts as more and more time passes.

I've been told to turn him out next to some mares next spring, anyone know if this method has any hope of working?

I dont know if i would risk that!!!I personally would ask for vet advice!!!I never had trouble when had my lad done!!The vets the people to ask, they will give you the best advice!!!

I owned a welshie a few years ago, he was 4 years old and only 1 had dropped. The vet said the other one was there and it would drop when ready. Sure enough the following year it dropped.

Putting him next door to mares will not make it drop! it will stay where it is and still work, so you are going to have the stallion instinct on your hands.... you would be far better to have him gelded even though this will be costly..... but leaving it there can also lead to problems later in life...... Good luck with your decision!

Thanks for your replies. Pretty much what i expected really, think will leave him til the spring as he's quite happy at the mo with another colt, then go for it!!! Better start saving!!
