Daughter (17) hunted today. Her dad takes her, he likes to follow the hunt. But today I got that dreaded phonecall at about 2pm saying she had had a nasty fall and could I drive out to meet them and help get the horse home and daughter to hospital! Eeek!

So met them in a country lane, where she was sitting in the car while OH was trying to untack etc. So in the end I took the horse and trailer and he took daughter to hospital.

Turns out they went to jump a fence out of a field but Manni took off about 3 strides away, clipped the top of the fence and went over and obviously she came off. Manni has a scrape above his eye, and a gauge down the front of one hoof, but seems fine apart from that.

Daughter has a sore arm and sore ribs - thank goodness she was wearing her body protector, I'm sure it saved her a worse battering. She has skinned her hip, thigh and arm, but on the whole is ok. No doubt she will be rather stiff tomorrow. As will Manni, so a gentle walk out in hand will be in order for him I think.

But aside from all that, she will be out again next week.

glad to hear that both are ok!

we had the air ambulance out today, but fortunately the young lad in question has got away with a touch of whiplash and nothing more serious! His pony stopped and headplanted him in a hedge.

Yes, air ambulance came for another prson today too, she landed awkwardly on her neck but all is ok so I have heard.

Our hunt have a 'tumblers club' and if you fall you have to pay £10 then at the end of the year the money goes to Lincs air ambulance and those who fell off most get prizes, there different categores like, junior, senior, sub-aqua etc.

Glad to hear she's ok and still raring to go next week. Hope Manni is feeling ok today too.

The tumblers club is an excellent idea, think the Blankney will be donating quite a sum to the air ambulance this season from what I have heard on the grapevine!

Well they have a couple of weeks to recover, cos Mark is shooting next Sat and the following Sat he and I are away, so they have time to get over it before they're out again.

Manni was fine when I put him out this morning. He had a really good roll, over and over, for ages, and was rumbling with pleasure too! Bless!

Yes, that's who she goes out with. Do you?

Yes I've been out with them a few times this season, everyone seems very friendly... I usually take my little Highland out but last time I went I rode someone elses horse just before Christmas...

Hoping to be back out with my little Higland end of this month/beg of Feb...
I will look out for you and your daughter!:)

You don't happen to know who fell off and required the air ambulance yesterday?! I know a few people who hunt regularly with them... Hope they aren't too sore today either!
