I'm going to have a bit of a whinge.

What is it with some people on here? I have seen a few posts this weekend from people accused of advertising. Now I know advertising on here is against the T & C's - but comeon people, stop being a bunch of hypocrits.
I've soon numerous links to ads put on here by regs asking for peoples input and there are more than several signatures with advertising in them. It does'nt matter how you word it - "saddle looking for a new home" etc etc - we all know what it means and I do beleive Admin warned us again not so long about it.

Yes admin have warned against advertising your own stuff for sale - deffo in the Ts&Cs that one! However I do not see anything wrong with people asking for input regarding something they need advice with - be that a trailer/lorry/horse etc

I think asking for input is exactly the same! Whether it be a hint in a signature or asking for advice. It doesnt bother me, as long as it is short and sweet. In fact, we are the people who would mostly be in the market for these various things, However, taking note of the t and c's, I have taken my dressage saddle out of my siggy!

Totally agree. I come on here to get advice from people, and sometimes you need advice on puchasing! I don't see how you can censor that.

Actually, I have to sort of agree with you Jac. A number of well established users have shown us the adverts they are using for their horses that they are selling. A couple of them (at least) have been blatently advertising.

However......I think the problem arises because this forum is used as our sounding board. Many established members come on here for advice and help....someone who is not familiar with the best way to sell a horse may ask their friends for advice, right? We are their friends, so we offer it.

It is a thin line, I realise, between blatent advertising and genuine help required.

Members who join to solely advertise their horses? Personally I think they are doing it for free advertising.......the cynic in me says "why else would their first post show a link to their horses for sale?"

It's a tricky one really.
