I may be panicing for no reason here but wanted to ask you guys your advice!
Angel has been feeling rather cresty lately, she isn't particularly over weight, not at an ideal weight, but all she has to do is sniff grass and she puts weight on. I got to the yard yesterday and YO had put her in said she was very cresty that her neck was solid! No heat from her hooves or any pulses.
I don't want to keep her in all the time, I am keeping her in the small paddock with the least amount of grass but is there anything else I can do? I plan to go and get her in at lunch time today but I worry she will then go and 'stuff' her face.
She has never had lami before. I am just one of those paniccy owners. Especially as I plan to move yards in the next week or so and the paddock she is going to has rather long lush grass!

My horse always has a crest at this time of year. Its the first place I notice he has weight gain.

To be on the safe side, cut back any feed she has gradually, if she can be ridden/exercised up that. Brisk walking is best and when she goes into the lush field, put her into a very small section increasing the size by a foot at a time every 2-3 weeks.

I have tried a grazing muzzle before, she is a crafty monkey and managed to get it off and destroy it. This is the horse that can take off any rug by undoing the front fastenings and stepping out of it without damaging the rug!
