Bit of advice please

My 10 year old collie wakes us up barking in the middle of night to go outside which is good in one sense but also sending me to an early grave. Any dead I've cut his evening food down

had the same problem --take him a walk last thing before going to bed and only feed twice a day A.M and lunchtime ,or as soon as you get home if you work fulltime

Beyond the age of 10 months, I only ever feed once a day, and for dogs such as yours, with what sounds like a bowel which may be struggling to retain its contents, then that feed would be in the morning. Dependant upon the dog's body score and its work load, then I also only feed for six days a week.
