Hello all

Just wondering if I could have some advice regarding the best bit for my mare?

When out in company she can get quite strong in canter, pulls forward with her neck almost, goes wooden/stiff [more on the left side] and runs off - leaving me with no ability to reduce the distance between me and the horse in front of me or slow down. Even shoving her up front she was still 'orrid last night.

I am just trying to work out which bit may prevent some of this maybe the Neue Schule Universal?

I am wanting to give hunting a go and this 'orridness I wont be able to cope with lol!

Thanks in advance

PS Ridden in a KK Ultra for flatwork and jumping. She wears a flash noseband.

Yep definitely try the Universal, they are fab bits and have the same mouthpiece as your KK anyway

Try it with a leather curb, as it will help "anchor" the bit in her mouth and with give you more steering

Agree with the Universal, theyre fab bits esp if youre already using a NS bit as the mouthpiece is the same

I use it on Winston for eventing, hunting it just wasnt enough to get his head *up*

Have a great time honey

Ill give the Universal a whirl and see how we go. Would you stick with the flash or try a grackle type noseband [I have a nice spare one a HHOer sold me
