Well Update on the tootsies :D

Jos frogs are peeling and I think I have some thrush in there despite the three times weekly bactakil hes getting. Ive brought him in off the ground for a few days to dry out his feet and hes getting a milton bath three times a weel as well as the bactakil. Dont know why he has it  hes not sore or sorry on them, stomping out fine on the hack

Its the fronts that have the thrush as far as i can tell the back ones seem to be fine

Annoying isn't it, think its just coz it's been sooooo wet, Leo's got a touch of thrush at the mo, but it's being stamped out with some blue spray, he also gets frayed frogs but I just wait till the farrier comes and trims them. Roll on spring!!!

Can you get him on some dry for a bit? Are you attacking the thrush from the inside too?

Go on pheonixhorse forum and check out diet for better frogs. Perhaps they are in need of more zinc/copper to help them grow stronger.

Whos feet are these N? What have I missed?? :D

I used to be a bit freaked by raggedy frogs but now I just chop anything obviously hanging off with a pair of scissors and let the rest of them sort themselves out. They seem to shed periodically but there is usually nice new frog underneath :D

I would try to keep them dry and stop hosing etc(I know for pics etc) but its been sooo wet lately and that wont help. Why Milton its very corrosive stuff ..bleach?? You do mean milton solution etc disinfectant?? am puzzling?? Stop wetting them and if you suspect thrush a syringe and squirt hydrogen peroxide around frog thats all. But leave outside of hoof alone now. I wouldnt hose off even just leave to dry/or towel them off. Roll on the dry sunny weather.

They look fine to me.

My god, do you still use hydrogen peroxide indie? That's possibly the worst solution to use, worse than Milton, hibiscrub the lot.

Thanks ill have a look at the thrush buster :)

I have always used milton in water as a thrush dispersing method, its not a straight bath he's standing in, only about two inches in a rubber shallow bucket for about 3/4 mins per foot then left to dry :)

He's in at the minute to give me a chance to knock this on the head, then he will go out during the day and in at night.

SM I'm a pratt Jos was meant to be K's lol!! Woops. I might trim off the rageddy bits as they are hanging, might take him another good hack that goes over a few gravelly river crossings and the levels are down, yes wetting the feet bit being honest they are getting wet in the forest ;), and stomp him through those and see if that will take off the dangling bits, will also give him a chance to splash and paw which he loves :D

Thanks all this weather is pants right now!! Roll on a hopefully drier summer!! And some more fun with the lovely 4. And co!! :D xx
