Are Dr Bristols extremely severe? I thought they were the next step up from a french link but at a show i heard a girl telling somebody NEVER to use a DR Bristol as they are far too severe and a few threads on the internet have said the same which im a bit confused about. Anyway i ride in a Dr Bristol with my mare, which she loves and i can control her in. Soon she'll be for sale as i've moved onto horses but shes 14.3hh so i can still jump seniors. ( bit confusing i know but ill explain) She is safe in everyway but she gets quite buzzy and strong while jumping, XC etc.. My little cousin(who is 8) is going to take her on part loan but id like to change bits for something that will suit my cousin and myself for control. She likes her routine and i dont want to chop and change what im doing. Bits are so expensive so we dont want to splash out on 10 bits to try. We have a bit box at the yard but its mostly pelhams and american gags( which ive tried and didnt even come close to working) I know every horse is different but does anyone have any suggestions on Bits that might help?
