Hi bought this myler bit on ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170680040934?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

It states very good condition.
I know it has been used so will show signs of wear.

But those brown areas on the bit are not copper as i thought.
They are the used areas where the metal underneath is showing through the covering.

I know it probably wont affect the use of the bit, but im worried that plain metal in my horses mouth wont taste as nice compared to steel and he wont be so quick and easy to accept it and be relaxed.

Should I complain?
Its in nothing to worry about?
Ask for a refund or a partial refund?

No to complain - its normal and per the picture so the ebay seller is spot on
Nothing to worry about its the sweet iron rusting which produces the taste that horses like
Refund - pff buyers remorse because you found it cheaper elsewhere is not a reason to return

I agree with everyone above too - it will rust like that, but is perfectly okay! I've just recently bought a brand new Myler combination bit, and it's gone that colour after less than 3 hours total use (but at least I knew it was supposed to!)
