Bit random- anyone keep their horses next to a crematorium?

It has just come to light that planning permission is being sought for a crematorium in the next door but one field-6 acres away basically.
Am worried about the aspect of ash and fumes, is this a problem?
I am aware rigid controls are in place, but some toxicity has to be emitted.
Has anyone experience of this?
I own my yard, so can't just move!
Thanks.

I don't think it will be too much of an issue, it will be controlled and we have a crematorium in our local town that is surrounded by houses, there never seems to be a problem with it; in fact with the amount of houses getting wood burning stoves fitted I think that the crem is clean in comparison!

I wouldn't mind living near one as it should ensure the area is kept looking nice and it should be quiet, at least I'd rather that than a housing estate going up, the extra traffic created might bother me more than the fumes tbh.

There shouldn't be any fumes. There never was from the one down the road where I used to live and actually you couldn't tell when it was on, and when it wasn't most of the time. Only in winter when there was a faint wisp of steam and even that was probably the heating system rather than the process.

My horse used to be very close to a knackers yard with a furnace... never saw any smoke or rubbish coming from there

A pet cremetorium was applied for, with massive local opposition as you can imagine. It went ahead and those who opposed admit that it causes no problem whatsoever. I don't know how busy it is though.
