Bit Rings?

They can also be very useful if your horse has a mouth that is in-between standard sizes (ie a 5" is too small but a 5 1/4 is too big) you go for the bigger size and add bit rings to stabilise.

Also useful tomstop the bit sliding through a horses mouth.
 
As I say, if it aint broke don't fix it. I ride my boy in a loose ring snaffle without them and he is fine, but needs them in his 3 ring gag. Each to their own (situation!)
I agree about them being a pain to get on and off, I have to find a strong man to do it as I can't myself!
P.s. Clement82 can you reduce the size of your sig please? It's massive, and people have been getting warnings about them being too big apaz.
