I am going to see a horse on Thursday, who sounds rather special. I haven't ridden in about a month, and I get really nervous riding infront of people on the ground, particularly owners of other horses

I am very grateful as this horse sounds like it is going to help me out a bit, but I cannot help feeling petrified at the thought of doing it. I am absolutely fine by myself/infront of people I know....I just slightly fall apart as I feel I have to impress them.

Would a nervous rider put you off, as a seller? Quite a lot of trouble has gone into holding this horse back for me to try. She sounds like an absolute dream, and I can't wait...but makes me more of a fool if I muck up

Stupid thing to think I guess. I even feel I have to do well for my non-horsey mother (although she is a serious PC mum in the making...)

Any spare good luck vibes appreciated too.....

It would depend on what i was selling. I wouldnt let someone really nervous on my current mare but happily sold my previous mare to a nervous novice (she went to big yard with lots of back up) as she was a fab confidence giver. Good luck, Im sure you will be fine.

I think you need to just breathe! A nervous rider wouldnt put me off as long as they were suitable and sensible. For example I wouldnt be annoyed if someone nervous came to ride rupert if they were capable... I get really nervous when riding in front of sellers but then think they wont be annoyed if I hand over themoney and give the horse a home for life. I am sure you are a perfectly capable rider, good luck, keep us updated

The nerves only seem to hit when I'm riding infront of someone on the ground who's watching my every move...including instructor LOL! They do wear off....but its weird because out hunting I'm not at all nervous (okay, post port...

I hope I will be alright...will just have to breath and enjoy it....thanks

Try look at it from another perspective. It is nerve wracking all round and the sellers clearly think that you are suitable if they are willing to keep the horse back for you. If you are nervous just think about all the fantastic times you could have on her if you get her!
