Hi
Sorry for this as I realise it will be a bit self indulgent
Had my second competition in Germany today (first one was last week) and ponio was very good... I got him as a project last year relatively cheap - 7 year, not done much except for mooch about in an indoor school, had done one competition, but the old owner told me he was crazy and she wanted a 'proper' dressage horse ! ...I have got him to hopefully do a bit of eventing with ...
It is 13 years since I last did a competition in England (pre novice / novice eventing) so I am a bit rusty too!
We did a dressage class, and a Caprilli (mix of dressage and jumping). in the dressage he was very tense, but honest boy did everything and got an average score (60%).. but in the Caprilli, he was super and we came second
(78%) .. am so proud of him as he was so lacking in selfconfidence last year and had not seen a pole (still some work to do!) but when he is on side he tries his heart out. the other complaint about him from the other owner was that he was diffficult to load... today he went in going and coming home straight away... you can tell I am pleased with him can't you ?
....... and I managed to understand what everyone was saying all day and not look a complete English twit.. although I believe that the skull cap might have looked a little out of place
OH took some pictures, but haven't seen them yet, will post some if he got any decent ones
Roll on 20th September.. we have our first mini event (dressage, cross country on the sat, showjumping on the sun)
so am really looking forward to that now.
