Bit sizes

In a Myler bit (loose ring) my horse takes a 5".
In a NS bit, again loose ring my horse takes a 5 1/2".

What size should I buy in a loose ring Sprenger bit ?

5 1/2'', I would have thought, as Mylers come up biggish.

When I changed my 5 1/4" NS for a Sprenger I actually bought a 5 1/2" which gave a little room for bit rings and a flash strap!

Without those things the bits came up as the same size though.

Could you try some different sized bits, then measure the one that fits best?
