Hi my 9yo has a older Welsh A bought for games but she is very strong though not nasty and we are not doing games at the mo but would like to try jumping so not restricted in bit choice. For games she has a hanging cheek jointed snaffle with flash and running martingale. Just wondered what would be a good idea to try. Was wondering about a Kimblewick?

Any suggestions welcome.

I like kimblewicks on ponies. Or maybe a wilkie snaffle? If she is happy with a joint she may prefer that.

I do remember as a kid though that strong ponies always seemed to go well in Kimblewicks, it seemed to be the bit of choice at that time and I think has been overshadowed by newer more fashionable bits

We had a very strong Sec B with a tiny but capable jockey. He rode in a french link but with a Kineton noseband (often used on the run to the start by racehorses!!) I have it hanging in the tack room if you would like to try it.
