Bit swappage scheme?

Hello everyone. I have a 5 inch 4 ring (dutch) nutcracker action gag, which I need to swap for a 5 3/4 inch of the same bit. Does anyone know of any sort of bit swappage scheme? I could buy a new one, but I have no idea if this is the bit for her (or me) so I'm reluctant to fork out (yet again!) for another bit, just in case it's not right.

Any body got any ideas?
