bit!!!???

hey guys....

i bet this sounds really stupid but i have a little bit of trouble with polo taking the bit...... what im planning to do is put a piece of cattot behind the bit and hopefully he will take it .... is this a good idea... if not....say so and plaese will you give meeee some more advice... thanks

Maybe you should try to find out why he lets other people and not you, then work on that?

I always use an extra strong mint offered on the palm of my hand just under the bit.... he he he... Merlin falls for it everytime... if not offered he will open mouth eventually if i stick my finger in, but I feel i need to reward him for having the horrid thing in his mouth anyway!!! Horrid thing is what he calls it!!! (teeth etc all ok, so no worries there)

I do that with one of mine, I hold a treat in the same hand as I put the bit in his mouth with. I still do it as a matter of routine and he actually looks forward to it now!
