Bitch in season

My 9 month old jrt x is in season - whoopie not long till we can get her done !!! However we also have a male done jrt x who is 18 months old. Usually they get on really well, no problems. But the bitch has been very agressive to him for the last couple of days, she will all of a sudden really go for him. Luckily he is very submissive and doesnt fight back, thankgoodness otherwise I think we would have been to the vet a few times with injured dogs. Yet the rest of the time she happily plays, licks, sleeps with him. Any advise ? And can some one please tell me this is because she is in season ?! and she will return to normal !
 
Thank you, I knew someone on here would be able to offer some advice ! Fingers crossed she is getting over her PMT ! no snaps at her brother so far today :)
