So Ella has just turned 9 months and came into season 4 days ago. I expected the bleeding obviously (god forbid on cream carpets) but I wasn't expecting the eating poo....vomiting....runny poo... Chewing furniture...And the crying, oh the crying!!! This is my first bitch so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. The house is going to be wrecked by the time she goes out of season.
Give me a male any day!!

(I love her really!)

Oh bless her. Thea's just coming to the end of her first season (at just turned 1 - we were starting to get a bit worried!) but thankfully not had too much to deal with other than her dripping which seems to be going on for longer than our other bitches :(

One of our old dogs used to get awful cramps so mum used to give her half a paracetamol which helped a lot - otherwise she'd just sit and whimper and look just as bad as I felt with PMT bless her.

Some of those things would not go hand in hand with a normal season - I would pop her to the vet to be on the safe side. Being out of sorts/a bit needy/stressy possibly but not the runny poo/vomiting.

Of course I may be being a massive drama queen :p

Oh no, you'll be glad when it's over then  my bitches aren't that much different to normal tbh, it does seem quite an extreme reaction. Hope it's over soon :)

I've never had a bitch with those extreme symptoms, sometimes they can be a little bit miserable but thats about it, certainly never any diarrhoea or vomiting, or more chewing than normal. Have you seriously reduced her exercise, that could perhaps account for the chewing and crying, but I have to agree with CC, might be worth just checking with your vet.

It might be worth popping her to the vet, we have had a recent influx of dogs with vomiting & diahhorea. As stated they don't normally go hand in hand with being in season

Phoned vet and they suggested I take her in if there's any more diahhorea or vomiting. Though she's not been sick since the middle of the night so fingers crossed it wasn't related. Vet said it does sound like she's having a rough first season though poor lass.
Exercise wise ive not reduced it, if anythig she's getting a little more as I've changed the time we walk to avoid prime dog walking times which has upset her a little but we play ball in the garden round about that time to try and take a bit of energy out of her. She's got a meaty bone to munch on this afternoon to try and divert the chewing.
