My 12 year old welsh had a raised perfect circle about the size of a £2 coin on her rump yesterday. I had a bit of a press on it and looked through the hairs and couldn't see anything so I thought it was a fly bite that she had had a bit of a reaction to. Today the outside edge of the circle has come up in big bloodly scabs (looks like fly bites) and when I pulled at the hair it fell out. The inside of the circle is perfectly normal, hair intact.
My first thought was ringworm, but I would imagine she was exposed to this before I had her and it just doesn't look right to be ringworm, I've not had one with ringworm that has had blood on the ring before. Any ideas please? I will be seeing the vet next week anyway so can ask them then but wondering if I could put some terramycin spray or something on it in the meantime?
Just to add, she isn't sore or itchy on it.
