I am currently full loaning a pony which is moved to my yard as the owner has gone uni, everything is fine but there is a horse in the field with him and bites him continously normally around food they have settled down a bit but he has lots of bite marks over his bum, what can i use to get rid of them?
I have been suggested sudocream?

Hello thanks for all your advice
amymay sometimes its not always around food the mare can do it at anytime.
Some of them are a little deep and i have got a medium weight rug on with a neck atm so hopefully they will go down, i feel sorry for him because he is not evil in any way and tries to be friendly with them
the owner is coming down in a couple of weeks and i dont want her to feel he is unhappy as he has made a best friend in the field now.

thanks

I wouldn't worry they will clear up on their own, although I am bit surprised, as generally they should twig to run away from the one biting them (as its his behind he was retreating, but not fast enough!)

All our babies are covered in bites, but they get less as they get faster!!

However careful with your rugs, you might need to get handy with a needle and thread!
