i have a 12.2 pony who has recently developed little bite marks over jaw line and neck. i am thinking it could be the midges although it is not affecting mane or tail. they are not weepy and are very small and look like she has a case of acne anyone have any ideas. they don't seem to be annoying her as she is not rubbing

Sorry, it's me.....I didn't make it to the supermarket this week...and your pony looked quite delicious.
Hope you don't mind

midge bites -sounds like. my mare has it down her neck i just rub a bit of aloe vera and apply more flyspray! nothin more you can do really

Just a thoguht - your pony's not taken to nibbling thistles have they?
Had a pony at the yard once that looked like an acne flare-up, then caught him picking thistles out the hedge! When I looked closer, I actually found a thistle spike in his lip... They disappeared when we fenced him away from the hedge.

I also wonder what a nettle rash woud look like on similarly greedy pony?

no i don't think she is eating thistles. she does seem to suffer with the flies etc her eyes were quite sore then so got her a fly mask. i think i will put some soothing gel on and more fly spray
