Well this morning I followed the avon vale hunt (It was close to home so I thought what the hell!) and it was amazing!
My adenelin (sp) was pumping just following the hunt!
Anyway whilst I was waiting for the hunt to come around the lake and under the train track I was talking to this old couple. They happen to mention they needed someone to hunt their Cob x mare,
So my mate said 'She'll ride it!'
So I'm off to try this horse tommorow, if we get on I'm going to the newcomers hunt on saturday!
Now I need a few tips!
I've never hunted before, i've been riding for 13 years, But this horse is a seasoned hunter!
I obviously have never ridden it before so wont know what its like plus just generally need some tips!
Do I have to wear a........*thinks what that thing like a tie is called*............*mind blank * as I am 18?
What can I try on this horse tommorow to get more of a feel for her on Saturday?
Newcomer's meet? Are they usually cheaper?
and any helpfull tips you have from your experience!

If you're lucky and this little horse is a seasoned hunter and knows her job she'll look after you.

There is nothing like riding a 'made' hunter - sheer bliss.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy :D

Oh yes, cobs are great for hunting on. Although I have some ace TB types to hunt, nothing is better than reverting to my sisters uber safe coblet, Monty, who knows his job inside out back to front and blind folded :) Hope you have a good day, and dont forget to tell us how it went :)

Well I rode her, took her out for a hack and galloped her..............We didnt really gel so her owner said 'you know what I think you'll be better on the gelding' So i took the gelding in the school and rode him and worked him and we geled!

I am now taking a 6 yr old vanner who has hunted 3 times so should be ok!

yes i did! I had an amazing time as well!
It was fantastic I was so nervous to start off with but once the first canter was done I relaxed!
My poor GG Wasn't very fit and I bought up the rear an awful lot today!
I had to get off when we went in the forest as my lad was only young and didnt like the look of the ditch in the entrance so got off got back on on a stone and carried on to get to the top to be told to turn around again. Went back over the ditch fine!
Can't wait for the next time I go such a shame it's so expensive!
Photographer took photo of me so will post that a.s.a.p and my 'groom' took some fantastic photo's!
Will post all a.s.a.p
