I have had my shire cross for a year and he has been top dog in a field of 20 other horses...We have bought another horse who is lovely and moved out of the area and put the 2 of them in a field where it is just the 2 of them. THe probelm is that even after 3 weeks the new horse is still biting huge chunks out of my gelding. I have put a grazing muzzle on him at night which seems to be helping (as he is rather fat) should I just leave them to sort out their pecking order? It would be quite difficult to separate them as there is limited grazing...They are fine hacking together!
