Bits Does a expensive bit ensure a better way of going?

I am having to buy a new bit I have been looking on the net and prices seem to vary dependant on make.
Now all I want is a french link loose snaffle, I can either pay around the £10 mark or prices seem to be in the high £30's.

Do you pay for the name like everything else, or are you really buying a better bit so hopefully the horse goes better.

Comes down on what your horse prefers. Some dont like stainless steel bits. Persoanlly i think my NS bit has made a huge difference

Yeah totally depends on the horse, the more expensive bits are generally a warmer metal alloy so technically the horse is more likely to prefer it. Though you find some horse's couldn't care less whether the bit is stainless steel, sweet iron or an alloy. I usually just try the cheap one first then if the horse is fussy try the more expensive ones

Certain bits as the other posters have said, can help improve the horse. The metals and alloys used etc..

An enormous part of the imrpovement is the hands at the other end of those reins!
