Hello
I have a cob who goes like a dream in a Pelham (Heather Moffat, you are right!). However when I change to a snaffle for dressage tests, its like changing from driving a 2500cc power steering coupe, to an HGV truck.
Yes I have tried forgetting the Pelham and schooling in the snaffle so he adapts, -trouble is he never does. Can anyone suggest a dressage legal bit that is as near to a Pelham as you can get?

Fraid not...I wish I did had the answer cos I have the exact same problem!

The strongest 'snaffle' I have come across is a wilkie (or beval) bit, but they are not dressage legal (or at least when I did a test in it I got -2 for it being an illegal bit - I thought that was v. generous, they could have eliminated me!!) However, it is allowed in first ridden show pony classes which must also be shown in a snaffle so I just presumed it was dressage legal!

So after all that waffle, sorry no, I still can't help you!
