Bitting a 2 year old

Is it ok? We managed to recatch the baby pony (head collar staying on now! I've learnt my lesson!) and we are taking him for walks. He is keen, too keen and a real puller. I am constantly having to have a strong contact with him - if I make it loose he pulls till it is tight again. Its constant me telling him woah, and pulling him level with me again. He doesn't care, just pulls harder.

I dont want him to get into the habit of pulling ALL the time.
 
It is ok to bit a 2 year old. We have yearlings bitted for futurity etc, however if your pony is a puller, I certainly wouldn't recommend bitting him as the reason to control him. IMO damage can be done to a young vunerable mouth even unintentionally.

I would look to consider more of a controller headcollar, something like a Dually/Eskadron/Richard Maxwell halter which can install manners without putting pressure on the mouth of a youngster. And then you can concentrate on your groundwork with the little person

Ah yes, my mum has been going on about a Dually - or something to do with monty roberts or parelli. Not 100% sure.

Right, I shall off and see if I can get a tiny pony one
