Jerry has been going alot better on the flat, he is currently in a loose ring lozange or a french link fulmar snaffle. Unfortunatly both of these have draw backs...

The loose ring lozange is lovely, but he does fuss a bit in trot and walk in it as he needs a stiller bit really, however he is super in canter in it as he cannot set against me or lock onto the right rein so easily

The french link fulmar is great because he works into a much stiller contact and doesnt fuss, but he does lock onto the right rien and set in the canter easily. This is fine as I can keep giving the rigt rein but is obviously more noticable in a less moveable bit.

So I have been alternating the two bits to keep both problems from becoming worse and this seems ok, but still not sure which to use for competing. I have a feeling there must be a bit that is something imbetween! Any ideas?

Also looked at the ones with a rotary lozange and wondered if this would help stop him setting on one rein? You can get one in a fulmar which might be perfect. What do you think?

Thanks

I tried a rotary bit on a horse that was fussy in the mouth, and tbh didn't notice any improvement... Have you tried using a dressage legal myler type bit with the shaped mouthpiece? I found some horses went really well in that type of mouthpiece.

Good luck
