First off I'd like to say that I'm genuinely after some advice, I'm not a troll!! Please excuse any spelling mistakes or bad grammer, I'm tired and tend to be able to say things clearer than I can write them!
I have 3 horses, 2 ex racers and a recent addition, TB X ID. I ride my 2 ex racers in happy mouths or french links and thats all fine, I prefer full cheeks but have never had a problem with riding in these bits, even with a v.strong horse!
Anyway my TB X ID is a 15 yo Ex BSJA horse and basically his mouth is dead! He has obviously been ridden by a muppet in the past (strong bits and gadgets I expect!) For the past 3 years he has been a happy hack and I'm hoping to bring him back into some jumping work (unaff)
So my problem is where to start with his mouth, he snatches at the bit and yanks his head down alot (teeth etc all ok) I find him hard to ride in a snaffle to be honest and a expierienced friend told me to try a waterford? Having had no expierience with waterfords I wasnt to sure and thought I'd post for some advice on here, any ideas welcome!
