I am looking for some advice for what bit may be suitable for my horse. He is a 6 year old warmblood who I've had 2 months now. He was backed last year and is still green and wobbly. He is very soft in the mouth, sometimes a little too much! If you ask for bend he over exaggerates and tends to be behind the vertical. He is quite fussy in the mouth and gets distracted easily. We've been working on getting 3 square paces and moving him forwards into the contact. He is currently in an eggbutt Mullen mouth and was hoping this would encourage him to take the contact forward but hasn't worked that way, it's as if it's too strong. Tried a rubber straight bar but that was disastrous! Has anybody got any suggestions for a mild bit to help him take the contact and begin to stop being behind the vertical? He Just feels too soft if that makes sense!!!!!
(His teeth, back, saddle etc are all fine)
