Hey guys,

I have an 11 year old warmblood x who I have had now for 2 years. She came to me and wasn’t particularly schooled correctly and in a straight bar fulmar.

I took part in a bitting clinic last year and she now goes in a Liberty eggbutt snaffle. We are doing well and have lessons with our trainer weekly. I am really struggling for her to take the contact, she is so light in the hand which starts to become really hard for me to sit back when I don’t have anything to hold on to. She also like to go ‘curly’ and BTV.

Does anyone have any recommendation on a bit they use in a similar scenario to help them take the contact forward?

Thanks for you help ?

My grey is very light in the mouth. She appears to like a hanging cheek (Myler low port comfort snaffle). I have been told that a hanging cheek is more stable in the horse's mouth so it makes sense that she can feel the difference and therefore relaxes into the contact more.
