I have an 17hh Cleveland Bay, which i am competing in show jumping, with the occansianal hunter trails (took him first time last yr and he loved it, but not as much as he loves jumping), the only problem i got is find him a bit. He is a snaffle mouth, but due to his size he is 'too heavy', not leaning on bit, not stong, just 'heavy', if that makes sense, been ridden in rubber mullen mouth pelham, but has started to fight the curb, so put him, in a 3 ring gag, which he likes. I'm looking for a bit that will help lift his head up a little bit more, and bring him off his forehand more, i know i can use flatwork to help with that, but the school (25x60) is a bit small for him to really use, so most things have to be done out hacking or in flat field. Wondering if anyone could suggest a bit, and the only other problem is that the bit must be 6 - 6.5 inch

I ride my girl in a KK universal (there is a cheaper NS alternative), I find most horses really like this bit, it gives breaks and most horses accept it very well. They also come in all sizes and they even do quarter of an inch sizing aswel so you could get a 6.25 inch
