recently I’ve changed my pony into a happy tounge loose ring snaffle from a hanging cheek with a lozenge as I don’t think he loves the tounge pressure. He’s quite strong and always had contact inconsistencies. Anyway in this bit he is light in the hand and feels like he’s working nicely and then every few strides will snatch and throw his head in the air. He doesn’t look unhappy in the mouth and when he’s going nicely in it he feels amazing but then the snatching and head flinging happens and we look a mess! Anyone have any experience with the ported barrel version of this bit or the pivot version? Or possibly with the fixed ring versions. I wonder whether that would create too wooden of a feel tho. I’ve tried about 5 different bit fitters in this region and none have any availability or don’t get back to me or won’t come out for just a few horses so as much as I’d love to do that, it isn’t really an option.
