Bitting Ideas Please

Hi there,
Need some help. I am having trouble stopping Benj at the mo.
Well, stopping him from running off and when I do actually let him go stopping the other end.
He does raise his head, but leans when I ask him to stop. He is currently in a 3 ringed gag with a french link (which I want to change) and I put a martingale on last week but has no real affect on him.
Another thing he does his tank off in trot. And I really can't stop.
We will be getting back into our lessons as our manners have slipped.

Any suggestions greatly welcomed!

Waterford or something with a mobile mouthpiece. A hanging cheek waterfors may do the job?

try a waterford 3 ring gag (i got mine for £15 so not too expensive to try!) i use that for hunting its great, does the trick and allows me to ride with soft hands instead of hanging on for dear life

He does like his waterford. I have a hanging cheek and loose ring. I think I will go back to that, well at least give it a try.
Maybe the action of the gag is lifting his head too much!

I am wanting to go hunting at the end of the month too......
