Help needed.
I'm looking for a bit that will enable me to have some brakes but doesn't have any poll pressure as my horse doesn't like it. I've tried a d ringed copper roller, which is ok but she sometimes runs through this, i've also tried a double jointed rotary snaffle which is also ok but she tends to lean on this when out cantering round fields.
Does anyone has any good advice?

Hi Paulapitstop, can I ask how your horse tends to tank?

Ie does she go along with her head up, head down, head shaking, overbent, nose poking, mouth open?

You mention that she leans, was this only in the rotary snaffle or is this fairly typical?

Generally I have to admit I agree with CotswoldSJ in this case and kimblewick is likely to prove the answer

Might sound weird but i have brake issues with my cob and tried gags and bits with poll pressure but have found that my kk ultra bit works a treat. Maybe try going back to basics? Though all horses are different. Having a good instructor is so worthwhile in case it is more of a schooling issue x
